Update #2 try #2

Trying this again. The touch pad on the laptop can be touchy. Here are some pics from the past week/weekend. Pete and Caroline are staying with us for the next week. I'm hoping to extend my hiatus from the kitchen for one more week. :) Here are some pics...

Edie found her hand (has only happened this once so far)...

Update

We are on our own!! It's going pretty well. No one has gone hungry (for long) and Byron has been dropped off at school each day (more or less on time). The boys did get in a food fight the other day when I had to take a break to feed Edie. That day Aaron came home to a very frazzled wife. :) Edie is growing like a weed. She is getting better control of her head and coos now (super cute). I forgot that I am totally a "baby person". I'm loving the baby stage. Some pics of the last week...

Waylon is wearing a pair of shorts (at least size 7) with both of his legs through one leg of the shorts (like a skirt) (and yes the boys are wearing shorts, spring has hit Savannah, you can hate us now)...
Milk coma on bros bed...
She loves the playmat...
Hanging out on the back porch (she does have her fussy times)...
Playing with big brother...
Edie playing with the lion (her eyes got HUGE first time she touched it and it swung around)....

Our storyteller (we did this again and again, maybe he'll be a thespian)...

Off to work on Thank You cards.

3 weeks

Our cute ruffle butt...
Edie is three weeks old today! She is already changing so much. Most noticeably, she has gained a ton. She is a good eater. She weighed 8 lb 12 oz at her 2 week checkup last Friday, that's almost a pound more than her birth weight. Go Edie.

She's also starting to notice more around her. She's still extremely sleepy, especially in the afternoon, but does have periods of wakefulness now and then. Here she's sleeping with the Joker (always a hazard when you have 2 older brothers)...
The boys are still going along just great. Byron has been cracking us up. Here's a snippet of his bathtime conversation with Aaron...

"Dad, you have to go to work everyday to make me cash money."
Waylon is still being a great helper. He has been super affectionate lately. Kisses and hugs galore.

Hanging with baby sis...
Quick trip to the beach this weekend (it was still pretty cold)...My parents are taking off tomorrow. Sniff, sniff. Off to feed her queenliness of pink and then off to bed.

Edie's first two weeks

Edie is two weeks old now! Everything is going really well. She is one sleepy head. She pretty much sleeps all of the time except between 7 and 9 am and 7 and 9 pm. Those are the two times of the day where you might see her eyes open. She is one great sleeper. She does have times at night where I have to rock her a bit to get her back to sleep, but not much. She's pretty much getting up 1-2 times between 10 pm and 7 am. Mom says she has my dad's sleepy gene. I keep expecting things to change and be getting up every 2 hrs at night. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My parents are still here. They are staying through next Wednesday. After that, I'm on my own (for 3 days). Then it'll be the weekend and Aaron will be home and then Aaron's parents are coming for a week. All of this help has been so great.

I uploaded a ton of pictures of Edie's first two weeks to shutterfly. Here's the link if you want to see more pics of the cutest baby ever born in Savannah. Click HERE. Here's some of my favorites...

New Toy

Aaron and I actually got a new laptop today! woo hoo!! We have been using a hand me down PC that Pete generously donated for the last year or so after our previous laptop gave up the ghost. We got a Sony VAIO that is just great. It's even pretty to look at. I'm sitting in a chair in our living room while mom holds Edie and blogging right now. Ahhh.

The boys love the webcam ( you can see Nana Renee in the background too)...
Here's one with Edie...

Edie is doing just great. She's eating really well and sleeping well too. I'm not going to tell you how well, I'm afraid of jinxing myself and receiving tons of hate mail from my 3 or 4 readers. Although, I have definitely paid my dues with the 2 boys. They both didn't sleep through the night till around 9 mo. Not to say that Edie is sleeping through the night, she definitely is not. But, it's great. She's been a super easy baby for the whole 10 days of her exsistence so far. I'm just enjoying her so much. She's such a cutie.

Edie Lynn

is here! She was born 1/25/11 at 4:21 am, weighed 7 lb 13 oz and was 19.5 inches long. It was a really smooth delivery. I think it went as well as a baby being born can go. I've heard about labors like that, but I didn't really believe they existed. Now I do!

I had some contractions Monday on and off since about noon. About 5 pm they became more regular (I think going on a walk and pushing both the boys around in the jogging stroller helped move things along), by 11 pm they were getting pretty close together and intense, so Aaron and I headed to the hospital. I got my epidural (thank you god for inventing anesthesiologists!!), took a nap, and she was here. It was crazy. The labor went so fast. Aaron and I were both thinking it would be sometime Tuesday afternoon or evening when she appeared, but she was in a hurry! It was one of those situations where they told me NOT to push so that the OB could get there. It was so exciting. The OB just held her up and we saw that she was a girl right away. I was so sure it was going to be another boy. It's really fun having another female in the house. It's pink land around here now.

We left the hospital Wednesday morning. I don't sleep very well in the hospital (my bed made sounds like a 747 taking off), and it felt great to get home. The boys have been great with her. Waylon is in love and giving kisses left and right. He has been very interested in her and loves to help out. He even tried to help me feed her. Byron's been interested, but not to the same degree. He has had a harder time with the new addition. He's great towards her, but has been a grump and 1/2. He and Waylon have also been fighting like crazy. Yesterday, Byron went and spent most of the day Friday with one of his friends from school. That really helped. He just seems so tired, but won't nap and isn't sleeping the best. Both boys have been up several times a night and getting up super early.

Update: I originally wrote the above post last Friday, but then got laid low with a bout of Mastitis. I'm on antibiotics now, and feeling great. I'm glad to report that Byron's grumpiness is abating also. Pete and Caroline made it in on Saturday night and we've been enjoying having everyone around. All this help is great and Aaron's been getting some landscaping done at the same time. Edie is doing great. She's had one semi rough night but has also had many great ones. She sleeps pretty well after 11-12pm. My little night owl.

Here's some pics!
