Reading

Now that Byron is gone a good part of the day, Waylon and Edie have been playing more.  :)

First day of school (x2)

Byron had his first day of Kindergarten at May Howard Elementary this Monday.  He seems to be having a pretty good time.  He has said he's bored quite a bit (he doesn't like waiting, but who does).    He does have quite a bit to report (good stuff) at the end of the day.  A couple of kids that were in his class at WIPP last year are in his class again this year.  He already found one girl that he worked out a deal where he gets her legoland key chain if he has her over for a playdate and lets her play with all his legos.  He forgot to find out her name at first though.  :)
All ready for school in his uniform

I was not happy at all about dropping him off the first day.  It was really sad.  I was a mess.  The rest of the days have been fine.  The car pool line is pretty crazy at pick up (45 min).  We have been walking in to get him.  It's working out much better.  It's good over all.  I'll just be glad when he's a couple weeks into it and we are in a routine.

Waylon had his first 1/2 day of WIPP (preschool) today.   He is in the 3 year old class right next door to the class he was in last year.  He's an old pro now.

Sunday yard work

Helping Dad plant
She is obsessed with buckles

Our front planter is done!!
Disclaimer:  I did not participate in any actual yard work today.  Some grocery shopping, but the men of the household did all the planting.

What??

I can't believe the summer is almost over.  Byron starts Kindergarten next Monday and Waylon starts the week after (going back to WIPP).  I have been very lazy about posting lately. No excuse really.  Here are some recent pics of the kiddos.  I'm determined to take more pics with the "real" camera and less with the phone in the coming months.

Edie is talking like crazy.  She is so funny.  The other day she picked up a lego head and said " Sponge Bob".  It was in fact the head of a Sponge Bob minifigure.  You can definitely tell she has older brothers.  Her favorite word continues to be cookie (gookie).  She likes to say it at random time and just laugh.
Pigtails!  Lasted less than 5 min
We're starting toddler tumble classes shortly
Waylon has been going to speech appointments all summer at Memorial.  They are going great.  He really likes his therapist.  We're going to continue going there for the foreseeable future.  Right now they're working on S and L.

Close up
Byron starts kindergarten soon.  He's pretty relaxed about the whole thing. I think the only one who is nervous is me.  He's also going to start soccer at the Y again this fall.  He told me he likes soccer because he gets to wear cool shorts.  :)

Bikers

Waylon got a "new" bike to ride with Byron.  Hoping this motivates the older brother to go on more family bike rides.

Home again, home again jiggety jig

Out on a boat Sunday
We are back from Colorado.  We actually flew back last Saturday.  The kids were great on the plane(s).  Edie slept the entire first leg and the boys BOTH took naps on the second leg.  Not too shabby.  Edie did not spill water on a random stranger (who obviously was not into sitting by a baby on the plane)  so that was good.  All fluids were contained.

We had a great time in Colorado but it's also nice to be home.  The kids are playing sooo well.  All toys are new again.  I had a hard time getting them out of the house to go to the library yesterday.  They were stuck in lego-land.

Super boy and Tiger boy playing in Edie's crib

Edie got a tractor ride from Papa Ken.  We had a great time in Colorado.  Thanks for letting us invade your house Papa and Nana!

Now it's time to get Byron ready to start Kindergarten.  We still have a couple weeks.  He'll be going to the local public school, May Howard.  I'm very excited/nervous.  I'm sure I'll be a mess.

Red rocks park

Got the boys out on some rocks to do some "mountain climbing".  We were notified that it is illegal to climb on the rocks shortly after this pic was taken.  Aaron was almost taken to jail for 10 yrs. :)
