Superheros

Byron went trick or treating with his school at a senior citizens home today. Waylon, of course, had to dress up too.

Two!

Can't believe that's how old my baby is now. He had his birthday last Friday. Poppa Pete and Nana Caroline were in town to help celebrate. We had a great time.

Blowing out candles...

We ate an insane amount of sugar that day. In fact, the whole weekend was sugar fueled. We got him a tool bench and toy mower for his birthday. Both toys seem to be hits so far.

Other than that, the in-laws and I went to the Buddy walk on Saturday. It's a walk to support down's syndrome. One of our neighbors has a little boy with downs. It was a great time. We did the walk around Forsyth Park and then they had a great festival for the kids afterwards. It was a beautiful day.

Pete (the official stroller pusher) and Caroline...
Byron and Waylon sharing a mid-walk snack...
Moments after Byron and Waylon were accosted by a 6 ft dog, the Buddy walk mascot... The nerve! Poor Waylon didn't go on the "train" ride after this.

It was a great weekend!

CO trip part 3

We headed down to the Denver zoo one day to meet with with Shelley, her two boys (Alex 2 and Andy 4ish months) and Stacy. It was a great day for the zoo and we actually got to chat quite a bit since the boys could run around and be boys. It was a great day for the zoo!

Getting up close and personal with a relative...
Shelley and Alex...
Waylon and Alex...
Alex hamming it up...
Waylon doing the same...
Stacy and Aaron...
Andy (who was the best zoo baby ever!)...
The boys attacking a peacock...
Getting a lift from dad...
After the zoo we headed to a nearby Thai restaurant. I think that was Aaron's most complete meal the entire time we were in Colorado. Fort Morgan isn't too big on the vegetarian options. :)

The boys had a nice nap in the car on the way back to Fort Morgan...
Another great Colorado day.

CO trip and soccer part 2

Our second exciting event of the Colorado trip was Byron's birthday. He is now 4!! Crazy.

4 year old in action....
We had a small birthday party at a local park with his cousins, aunt Shelley and uncle Scott, nana and poppa, grams and poppa Jim, Aunt Verna and uncle Dick.

Cousins just hanging...
Way hanging with some help...Come slide away...
Goody bags...Byron sporting the dino/croc hat...
It was a really nice party and the weather was fantastic. It wasn't even windy, which is really saying something for Fort Morgan. Somehow I missed getting pics of the eats, treats and presents. There were lots of all.

In more recent happenings, Byron had his first soccer game (practices only till now) this evening. It went great. We did have some tears and reluctance the first 5 minutes, but he really turned around. He actually made a goal!! In one of those weird twists of fate, I actually got it on video. It's too big to post here, so CLICK HERE for the youtube video.

Back!

We are back! We got back from Colorado late Saturday night, like 10 pm, and then had a great day Sunday on a boat tour with John and Stephanie. So much has happened since I posted last, I think I'll do it in installments so I don't overwhelm ya'll.

I originally tried to post this on Monday, but I've been so tired.

These are pics of the whole reason for our trip to CO, my dad's retirement party. It was a kind of chilly day, but as you can see that didn't keep us from staying outside. It was a great party. There were about 40 people there, the kids all stayed outside. I would like to say more, but I just spent the last hour getting our plane tickets for Thanksgiving (going to the boro). I'm wiped.
