Feels like Friday

Aaron has tomorrow off, so all day today it felt like Friday to me.

We had a great day. We went swimming at Y in town this morning. They have a zero entry pool that is 2' deep at most. It's great for the boys. We finished up about 12 and called Aaron and met him for lunch. Waylon fell asleep on the way home and slept till 3:30. Byron actually took a nap (first one all week) and I had to wake him up at 4:30.

We got stuck in a rain storm at the grocery store running to get some pizza supplies later in the afternoon.
Thank goodness the checker gave the boys lolli's to keep them occupied.
I just love having fresh flowers around, especially bright cheery yellow ones..

We made it!

We have AC again and made it through the last couple days relatively unharmed. I think I may have some emotional scarring that may take a while to heal. Being pregnant and without AC in August is definitely something I wouldn't recommend, unless you like emotional, crying pregnant ladies. :) However, it wasn't as hot as it has been, thank goodness. We had quite a lot of rain in the last 36 hours, which also slowed down the HVAC people getting out here.

The boys didn't seem to be too bothered by it. I was a huge juice/water pusher for the last couple days. They like running around without any clothes on and the extra ice cream.

Here we have naked playdoh...
and naked coloring...
Cooling off externally and internally...
Just a cute picture of the girls.
Now, I don't have any excuse to put off the house cleaning anymore. :)

Hot-vannah

So, our air conditioner quit working this afternoon. It is HOT. Blech. I can't imagine how people lived down here before the invention of the air conditioner.

We have 3 fans set up in the boys room. It's thundering right now, so I"m hoping for a big rainstorm where I can open up all the windows.

Thankfully, it's been hotter. It's 84 right now, but supposed to get up to 91 tomorrow.

Our realtor did give us a home warranty for the first year. Someone should be coming out tomorrow. I'm imagining a morning of a breakfast out, then maybe Sam's club and any other air conditioned place we can find.

Last week I did a little home improvement project and replace the curtains in our master bed. I think it's starting to look pretty nice. They were a dark burgundy before.

It's too hot to write or post more. I'm going to go out on the back porch under the fans and have some ice cream.

Wednesday

This is where we went this morning....
It was really great, and I only lost it 3-4 times trying to get the boys and all the beach gear out of the house and in the car this morning. I forgot the life vests. So, we just spent the time in the sand and the surf. This is only the second time I've taken the boys to the beach on my own. Now that Byron's swim lessons are done, we have a lot more unstructured time.

I found a sand dollar too!!
Made my day.

Weekend pics

Had a great 3 day weekend with Aaron. We really didn't do too much, but just messed around the house a bunch. We tried to go to the beach today, but it rained all day. Aaron did some random house/yard projects and I cleaned the back porch. Very productive weekend.

Byron goofing Saturday morning....
Haircut Saturday afternoon.....
Waylon looking like trouble this morning...
We did go over to John and Stephanie's house for dinner on Friday. I made a meatless Tamale pie (very very good but a ton of work) and the boys swam in their pool. It was a really nice night.

Aaron and I got new phones this weekend! I am loving mine. It's a droid. Fun stuff.

Belly update

Had another OB appt today. Everything is going well. Gained another pound, heard the baby's heartbeat right about 160ish. It's getting bigger....I'm feeling great. The second trimester is so nice.

The boys were helping out with the housework today... Byron was vacuuming and Waylon was helping by riding the canister. I tried to get a pic, but he had moved by the time I actually had the camera out. They're fast little buggers.

I love our new rug, but it sheds. I have little fuzz balls all over the place. I''m hoping it'll die down shortly. The housework with the house is quite a bit more. I do miss being able to clean our entire apartment in 2 hours. Now, the floors alone take 2 hours. Sigh. Everything seems to get dirtier fast too. Maybe that's just my perception though. Housework, blech.

Baby whisperer

Waylon is starting to come along verbally. He really hasn't said too much up to this point except mama, dada and more. Up to now, he either uses sounds or signs to get his point across, which he does really well. Now, he's started adding in booger, bug, cat, fish, juice and a couple others. We've been trying to get him to say words. But, when he does, he whispers them. It's really cute.

This picture is fuzzy and the lighting is horrible, but it would've been great in focus....He's such a ham. :)

Byron's doing great. He is the man of a million questions lately. It's nonstop. He built that little robot himself. He's really into building lately too. He's been building lots of robots, aliens and monsters. (We watched Aliens vs. Monsters last week when he was sick.)

Aaron and I went out to dinner (alone!!) for the first time since March last weekend. It was heaven. We went to a place called Alligator soul. The food was fantastic and the one on one time wasn't bad too. One of the nurses Aaron works with has a sister that babysits. She lives in the next subdivision over and is a retired teacher. You can't get much better than that.

Settling in

Laya is doing great! She's starting to settle in and Piper is starting to get used to her. Piper has become the grumpy old woman. She's been growling at Laya almost constantly, but they actually played a bit the other day. Piper just has to show her who's boss. Most importantly, Laya is great with the kids. She lets Waylon play and hug on her as much as he wants. When she licks his hand Waylon says "ticky" (for tickle). It's very cute.

We got our new rug! It's huge!! But, so is our living room, so it fits.
Lastly, we've been passing around a little cold. Waylon had is first and wasn't feeling 100% for a couple days. Byron and I have it now. Byron woke up with a raspy voice and I told him he had a frog in his throat. He said, " No mom, it's either a piece of icky food or my stomach is crooky." There was a big involved story about how his stomach became "crooky" but I can't remember it now. :)

It's a girl!

Well, Laya is at least. We adopted a dog from the humane society in Savannah today. :)

Yesterday I got a call that we were approved to adopt Laya and she was still available if we were still interested. I took Piper and the boys down today to make sure that Piper and Laya didn't hate each other on site. Everything went great and 20 minutes later we walked out the door with Laya.

She's doing great so far. She's a puppy, so she needs some obedience classes in a pretty bad way. So far, she seems like a very sweet dog who is just great with the boys. She does lick, so that has Waylon keeping his distance for now. Byron is over the moon about her.

A great 8th wedding anniversary present for Aaron and I.
