Miss Edie Pants

Yep, made some pants (for beach going) for Edie. By made, I mean sewed (on a machine borrowed from great friend Rachel, not ready for the commitment of my own machine. That means I have to actually sew something again on my own, scary.) with the sublime supervision of my momma. Here they are...
The cute recipient of said pants....
Freckle nose (just cause, you can actually tell that the Christensen genes are in there somehwere)...

Snake killer

The scene. Lazy, warm afternoon. Byron and Waylon playing in the pool while Edie hangs poolside. Exactly like this...
I was sitting next to Edie, just playing and all the sudden Laya goes crazy. I look back and there's a snake slithering up the porch towards our grill ( in the very foreground of the photo above). It went right behind me and I didn't even know it. Waylon was still in the pool so I grabbed him up and threw him in the screened in porch. Byron jumped into the storage bin(majorly freaking out) and Edie just watches from her lazy-baby chair. Laya ends up chasing the snake around to the other side of the porch (thank goodness) and corners the snake. It was about 2-3ft long and inch wide or so. It looked huge. Laya, our crazy little puppy, kills the thing. One dead snake (the following photo may be slightly graphic and fear inducing for snake fearers)...
It made up for all her carpet hole chewing, window sill chewing, knock over various children and adults crazy behavior. She was the heroine of the afternoon.
Byron and Waylon lavished her with various blankies and sausages for the next 1/2 hour.

Aaron thinks it's hilarious that this is such big news around the Pederson household. What can I say, the day to day happenings of a stay at home mom are pretty mundane.

Summer break

Today was Byron's last official day of preschool for the year. They had a graduation ceremony for the 4 and 5 year olds that are going into kindergarten next year. Byron got to participate but didn't get to wear the hat and got a story book instead of a bible.
With his teachers Mrs. Marett and Mrs.Skipper...
Best buds Haku and Avery...Ice cream social after the ceremony...
Here's some videos. Byron was really being a character today. He's definitely feeling good. Working the aisle...

Some singing...

What happens when you give a bunch of 4 year old boys ice cream and turn them loose...

Tomorrow we have a picnic out on Tybee for the entire school. Lots of celebration going on. After that, it's back to business as usual. I have to say I'm really looking forward to having lots of unstructured time this summer. Edie is getting to the point to where she needs to nap in her crib more often.

Keep on going on

May is flying by. Time has been passing so quickly. In between preschool,t-ball games, potty training, and "normal" life with 3 kids each day is over before I know it. Hence, the sparse postings. Here are some random updates...

Byron is loving t-ball...

It's hilarious. He usually hits the bases as he runs around and when they field all the boys run after the ball no matter their position. It's looks like a mix of t-ball, soccer and football with all teamates piling on the ball when it finally comes to rest. He's having a great time on the team with a bunch of his friends. Byron's almost done with his first year of preschool. His "graduation" is this Tuesday. It's pretty silly since he'll be going there again next year. He had his first dental appointment a couple weeks ago and has 2 cavities. Poor guy. We're getting them filled next week.

We've been spending a lot of time at the beach...
Waylon is in the midst of potty training. It's going pretty well. It's just a slow process. I have cleaned up more poop this month than EVER before. Unfortunately, Waylon doesn't mind getting dirty. I didn't realize how easy Byron was to potty train. Now I do. Waylon is talking up a storm. Some of my favorites are..
"Come here!!" (usually very loud and emphatic)
"me no baby, me big boy, me Way"
"cool"
"him name??" (for anything he want to know the name of)
"daddy bad boy" (whenever Aaron teases him)
He's gone from calling Byron "ba ba" to "bobby" to "bob".

Look who likes the exersaucer...
Edie is doing great. She continues to be the cutest baby ever. She is drooling up a storm. She has one or both hands in her mouth at all times.

Aaron is still studying like a madman. He takes his boards a week from Tuesday. We all cannot wait for him to be done. My parents are coming out this Friday to hang out for 2 weeks and help celebrate Aaron's return (and help out while he's gone). I'm a lucky girl.
