The Pederson room

I think that is what they should change Room 3 to at our pediatricians office.  We had our 5th office visit in 3 weeks today.  Waylon has strep.  I'm hoping to get out of the house again sometime in April ( trips to CVS and Dr's exempted).

Byron's story

After a close call with a grape, Byron got an afternoon off from school.  No more grapes for him, ever!  He composed this story.  ( I didn't even prompt him to do it, I swear!).

Mat had a pan.  Mat had a rat.  The rat had jele.  Mat had a cat.  The cat had bred (bread).  The cat had a dog.  The dog had penitbutr.  Thin they put the stuf two gethr.  Thin they had a samwich.

In other exciting news of the day, Cooper ( previously harry/Larry/twinkle) is walking a little lighter (and gingerly) this evening.  He was neutered today, poor guy.  The comments from the kids about the whole thing have been hilarious.

Catch up

I haven't been so good about posting this year.  I'll just try and hit the high points...

My parents were here for Edie's birthday and left right before Valentine's.  We tackled some much  needed home improvement while they were here.  My electric skills are much improved thanks to Dad.  :)  Last weekend, Pete and Alicia came out for a visit.  We had a GREAT time despite some inclement weather.  Fist, some home pics...

New mini Chandelier above my tub, so I can feel fancy while I soak
New chandelier and paint in the dining room, was red before
New light in the foyer
New lights, fan and paint in the kitchen. It's called Cheery yellow, and is very cheery. :)

New paint in kids bathroom (was brown).  Color we are considering for the main living area (green now).
The kids are all doing well.  We had some cavities filled at the dentist a couple weeks ago.  Waylon did great, but bit his cheek really bad afterwards.  It was horrible.  Thankfully, he's all better now.
Byron's doing great at school.  He seems to be much happier there now.  He still does complain about being bored and does not participate much in large group settings.   He is reading a ton though.  We've started adding in a book each night after his sight words.  He's been reading on his own more too.  It's so cute to see him reading to Waylon and Edie.  Just melts my heart.
Edie is great.  She is so funny.  She figured out how to get out of her crib when my parents were here, but it still taking good naps.  Thankfully, she seems happy to stay in for now.  She does vault herself out and flip herself  back in during the day, just playing around.  She's been telling lots of stories lately...

Last, but not least.  We have a new family member.  Just yesterday I was out jogging in the hood with Edie.  We saw a little super cute dog that was running around in the streets.  He had no ID so I asked around but no one claimed him.   We took him home and gave him a bath so he could come inside (it's been a little chilly here lately).  That afternoon, I put up a sign on the bulletin board at the entrance to our neighborhood.  We got a call late last night from the owners, they came over and we were talking about how cute he was. I  mentioned something about how two boys were going to be very sorry to have him gone in the morning.  It ends up that this lady is a foster home for small dogs from the shelter here in  Savannah.  We kept him for the night to see how he did.  He did great.  He is a super sweet dog.  We just signed the papers to make it official this morning.  He's ours.  :)  We are all so excited.
